MINING AND MINERALS
Sokor North Area project is located in the district of Tanah Merah, Kelantan approximately 80 km south-west of Kota Bharu, the state capital. The Project covers an area of approximately 547 hectares or 5.5 km2 over 4 mining leases. The Sokor North Area project is in the Central Gold Belt of Peninsular Malaysia. NICE’s mining operation is carry out under Niche Capital Mining Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NICE.
The Group has thus far identified four (4) gold mineralisation within the Sokor North Area namely Rixen, Extend, River Valley and CF deposits and resource definition exercise carried-out in accordance to the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (‘the JORC Code’) are currently on-going for the Extend and Rixen deposits. Continuing exploration activities are on-going to collect geological information of Sokor North Area in order to identify new gold mineralisation.
NICE had commenced alluvial gold mining operation via gravity concentration facility in February 2023, however, the alluvial mining operation is only a short-term mining operation while NICE complete its first gold mineralisation resource definition exercise and determining the feasibility of a hard rock mining operation within the Sokor North Area, which is the long-term operation objective of the Group.
